Tourists Stranded as Manali-Leh Road Blocked due to Landslide

Shimla, July 19: Hundreds of tourists stranded on the Manali-Leh National Highway as a huge landslide occurred near Rahli Nullah on Tuesday night.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is engaged in road clearance work in the area since the blockade.

BRO commander Colonel AK Awasthi said that “the workforce along with machinery was already engaged in road clearance work and we are hopeful that vehicular traffic will be restored till noon.”

The district administration has issued an advisory to the people to refrain from visiting the area until the road reopened for vehicular traffic.
