On a tip off, police intercepted the official vehicle of Mahinder Kumar, coming from Solan towards Shimla. While checking his vehicle, police recovered 4.4kg ‘chitta’ (a colloquial for heroin). Preliminary probe suggested that the officer was in possession of drugs for delivery. Forensic investigation confirmed that the seized substance is ‘chitta’, said police sources. It is also suspected that the manager misused his official vehicle for smuggling drugs earlier too. Police said a Jammu and Kashmir resident had provided the drug to Kumar.

Further investigation is on. Shimla superintendent of police (SP) DW Negi said police may arrest more people in the case as the investigation has just begun.News Source Hindustan Times
