Himachal: Cabinet nod to set up rights commission

Shimla, 18 July: The Cabinet on Monday gave nod for setting up of a full-fledged State Human Rights Commission, work of which was being looked after by the Himachal Pradesh Lokayukta till now and paved way for creation of about 2,500 posts in the Health and Animal Husbandry departments.The Cabinet at its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Monday, gave nod for setting up of a full-fledged State Human Rights Commission, having a Chairman and a Member.

The Cabinet also gave approval for 29 posts of various categories in the State Human Rights Commission. The Supreme Court had directed all the state governments to set up human rights commission.The Cabinet gave nod for filing of 2,000 vacant posts of para-medical staff in the Health and Family Welfare Department on contract and decided to hire additional jalrakshaks and for every functional irrigation and drinking water scheme.

Approval was given for filling of 450 posts of pharmacists and assistants in the Animal Husbandry Department.The Cabinet gave nod for filling of posts of environment science lecturer in government degree colleges where there are more than 1,000 students or more from academic session 2018-19. It was decided to create awareness among the students for preservation of environment. It also decided to start education as a new subject at under graduation level in 13 government degree colleges.

The Cabinet decided to implement the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) for procurement of apple on the analogy of previous years with a view to provide remunerative price to the fruit growers. The procurement price has fixed at Rs. 6.75 per kg instead of last year rate of Rs. 6.50.The Cabinet gave nod to fill 17 vacant posts of Assistant Professor in Shimla and Tanda Medical College.

Nod was given for opening of some primary schools, all over the state. Decision was taken to establish Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology at Balla Kharot (Parour) in district Kangra under PPP mode under self financing mode and with no liability on the government.
