Why Break-Ups And Divorces Are Becoming So Common?

We live in a highly volatile society. We are easily offended and are easily instigated. Blame it on the amount of “freedom” that we have while growing up these days and we still complain about our privacy. The way our society is shaping up these days makes us wonder if some amount of control is actually healthy for our grooming. The overtly “free” and unbound generation is having a tough time dealing and maintaining relationships these days and is sadly failing at it, big time! Let’s look at the reasons why we are seeing more break-ups and divorces than ever before.

1. We need extensive freedom

Whyarebreakups1

Freedom is good and freedom is a blessing, lest we begin to abuse it. The problem with the society is that everyone needs freedom and not many people know its true meaning. We cannot compromise even a single bit. We don’t like the administration, we don’t like religion, we don’t like norms of the society, we don’t like customs, we don’t like our teachers, we don’t like our parents and we don’t like anyone who comments on how to lead life. This is just the beginning…

2. We have started to expect too much

Whyarebreakups2

When we are in a relationship, we expect the opposite person to compromise to the hilt. We expect the person to be supportive even when we are not. We expect the person to deal with our difficult traits, even when we do not. We expect the person to be God, when he is not!

3. Sacrifice? Bleh!

Love is all about sacrifice! You give up a part of you and you become a new being all together, but not anymore. We are following a new book of love and this book isn’t even included in the curriculum! We are not able to part with unimportant material things, such as a friggin’ mobile phone or “my side of the bed”, leave aside a part of our personality. Heavy!

4. We need constant counselling

Relationships are no more private. We have an extended social circle nowadays and we involve any Tom, Dick and Harry in our relationship. We seek relationship advice from people, who in most cases are a “nut-case” themselves, and we don’t really realize, what’s going wrong?!
