A quick break can break the monotony of our stressful lives and get us all geared up to face anything. Sometimes just a weekend away can be enough to make you feel fresh as a pansy. And if you live in Delhi, then a break gets even more essential for you, as the hot summer is determined to drive you crazy. Not many of you know that there are some very interesting weekend options close to Delhi. If you like to be out in the wild, then read on…

5 Shivpuri

Some of you will be shocked to hear that close to Rishikesh, there are locations where you can relax on a white sandy beach. The river Ganga flows next to these locations and you will see many camp sites here. You can spend peaceful weekend here or have an adventurous one by signing up for rafting, rock climbing and much more. And we must mention that the food is in these camps is awesome.

4 Rajaji National Park

You might have missed this location in your hurry to reach Mussoorie. But the good news is not many travellers know of this secret, so the park continues to be green and clean for now. It is the perfect getaway for families, or even solo travellers looking for peace. The park has tigers, elephants and even panthers. You get plenty of choice in accommodation here.

3 Kasauli

Did you know that Kasauli is just six hours away from Delhi, provided you leave at dusk. But we are not asking you to go to Kasauli, instead explore the Sanawar nature camp this weekend. If an adrenalin rush is what you are looking for, then sign up for the long list of nature activities they offer. Or just spread your mat and read your book under some tree.

2 Shoghi

Shimla is getting crowded and noisier by the day. So next time stop a little short of it at Shoghi, and stay in any of the resorts located in the jungle here. You can go for many nature walks here, send time sitting next to gushing streams, and spend quality time with your family next to a campfire.

1 Pushkar

If you are bored of heading to the hills every time, then drive to Rajasthan this weekend. Drive straight to Pushkar and experience the colourful town up close.  You can take the kids for camel rides and if you want to make it extra special, then book a resort at the foothills of the Aravallis. The place will make you smile naturally.
