We Indians want more with less investment. This is a fact and can’t be ignored at all. But what more can be given when it comes to four wheelers. Toping the need would be mileage of course. Carmakers are bringing in new options that provide impressive mileage. At one hand it is known that diesel vehicles have better fuel efficiency but with improvement in technology, petrol cars are able to deliver better fuel economy. On the other side, narrow price difference between both fuels has brought back petrol cars into the limelight.
So take a look at the cars that claim to return efficient mileage.
Tata Nano GenX
Let’s start small to attain big. Though Tata’s initial model failed to meet the expectations of the customers. But after various revisions and upgrades the GenX version finally created a difference. Available in both petrol and diesel, the more thrifty diesel engine provides 67bhp and 140Nm and returns a mileage of 27.28 km/l. On the other hand the petrol version promises 23.4km/l.
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800
The 2016 Maruti Alto 800 builds up its power from the same 800cc petrol engine. Slightly efficient from the predecessor, the 47 bhp, 69Nm petrol unit is capable of running up to 24.7km/l.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz SHVS
At one hand the old Maruti Ciaz diesel had an ARAI certified mileage of 26.21km/l. But the new Ciaz SHVS returns an outstanding 28.09km/l. This efficient performance makes Ciaz SHVS hybrid Indian’s most fuel-efficient car.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio
Powering a 793cc, 2 cylinder diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 47bhp and 125Nm. The diesel version claims to provide a mileage of 27.62km/l and the petrol powered Celerio is equally frugal at 23.1km/l.
