Shimla, Oct 24: BJP leaders today alleged political victimization and misuse of official machinery in the Dharamsala Assembly constituency. While addressing a press conference here today, former minister and BJP candidate from Dharamsala, Kishan Kapoor and Sanjay Sharma, alleged that raids were being conducted on anyone perceived to be supporting the BJP.

Sanjay Sharma alleged that after he took up the issue of no action in FIR registered by a Panchkula-based person, in which it had been alleged that money was taken from him in lieu of allotment of certain contracts in the Smart City project, a raid was conducted at his house in Dhaudhar Colony.

Sanjay Sharma alleged that after he organised the conference, the next day, he found two Town and Country Planning officials inside his house taking measurements. “When I asked them, how they had entered my house without permission, the official said they had orders from the top. I called the police and was about to a register a case of trespassing against the officials, but I just dithered from taking such a step for the sake of the employees who said they were under pressure”, Sanjay Sharma alleged.

He further alleged that such was the extent of misuse of official machinery that Terrace Restaurant at which he and Kishan Kapoor had organised the press conference was raided by excise officials.

Sanjay said the Minister for Urban Development and Congress candidate from Dharamsala, Sudhir Sharma, maintained that he was not a ‘gunda’, but how would he define acts of misusing official machinery to the public?

Kishan Kapoor also alleged that the minister should explain before the public that how Sudhir Sharma and his wife’s income had increased manifold between 2012 and 2017. Meanwhile, Kishan Kapoor received a shot in the arm today as major dissident of the BJP, Onkar Nehria, joined him in the campaign.
