Pepsi is divorcing aspartame. Starting August, Diet Pepsi, Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi and Wild Cherry Diet Pepsi will be sweetened with a mixture of sucralose and acesulfame potassium, the company has said. The blend replaces aspartame, an artificial sweetener approved by the US Food and Drug Administration but which has been plagued by criticism for years that it poses health risks.
Also Coke Zero is sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame potassium (ace-k) and has zero calories. Artificial Sweeteners are thought to be safe, although some people believe they are unsafe. Splenda, in particular, is viewed as unhealthy by some. The main chemical difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke is that Coke Zero has about half the aspartame but has more ace-k.
1. Aspartame side effects have been talked about for long
There are over 92 different health side effects associated with aspartame consumption. It seems surreal, but true. How can one chemical create such chaos?
Aspartame dissolves into solution and can therefore travel throughout the body and deposit within any tissue. The body digests aspartame unlike saccharin, which does not break down within humans.
The multitude of side effects are indicative to your genetic individuality and physical weaknesses. It is important to put two and two together, nonetheless, and identify which side effects aspartame is creating within you.
2. Components of aspartame can lead to health problems
Aspartame is the common denominator for over 92 different health symptoms at the root of modern disease. The Aspartame Detoxification Program demonstrates the most effective way to reverse disease symptoms is removing the underlying cause – aspartame.
