You Still Lie To Your Parents! Don’t You?

Are you all grown up and sensible but still lie to your parents? No? Yes, you do and you know it. A question to be asked to ones own self, own mind and soul.

Isn’t it the truth? But why do you lie to your parents?

What we generally are in front of the world differs from how we’re in front of our Parents. We’re expected to tell them everything, but we don’t. We hardly let hem know our grades, our masti outside the home, bunk from college, drinking or smoking habits – nothing!

And more often than not, we do this simply as a habit even if there is no reason to lie to our parents. We probably think that our parents will not come to know, but someone has rightly said that a mother knows everything!

Here are some KHURKI answers why you lie to your parents:

11 Some things just can’t be told

Because these may result in the use of swords or knives by parents.

10 It has become a habit

And ‘telling the truth’ might be dangerous.

9 Because truth is indigestible

And the consequences don’t let you speak up.

8 They believe in your ‘good deeds’

It was only just a dreaaaam!

7 It might change their ‘view’ about you

Where ‘my child is the innocent’ rests in peace.

6 Because they’ll get hurt

Better to hurt them now than face damaging consequences in future.

5 To maintain a good relation

The level of a ‘good relation’ will increase if they start accepting you for what you’re.

4 Because truth ends trust

Trust, my friend…once gone is difficult to reclaim.

Is it that lying to parents is because of the generation gap and the inability of our parents to understand our thoughts and lifestyle?

3 Generation gap

Or it might be that there’s no way out and it’s the ‘dead end’.

2 Will not be able to accept ‘ME’ easily

Two options – either you change or you let them be.

1 Difficult to explain them

After all of these, there might be a case where they accept you but don’t get you.

Sometimes… I repeat, only sometimes telling a lie is helpful for both parents and the children where no one gets hurt or has a disastrous fight!
