A.R. Rahman does it yet again..!!

Humko Mann Ki Shakti Dena, a prayer I used to sing in my school has been so beautifully sung by him. He’s sung it as a tribute to the 2008 attack victims of 26/11.

Hear it to get a soul cleansing:

The song was written for the 1971 film Guddi by Gulzar, set to music by Vasant Desai and originally sung by Vani Jairam.

On November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists arrived by sea and opened fire at several prominent Mumbai spots including Taj Mahal Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Cafe Leopold. The attacks continued till November 29 and left 166 people dead and several others injured. Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist captured alive, was hanged four years later on November 21, 2012.

Speaking on the thought behind this special composition, A.R. Rahman says, “This day on 2008 humanity was tried, tested and annihilated. This song is dedicated to all the victims of hate.”

Hope you join me in this prayer”.

I just did!!!
