Delegation Of Villagers Meet CM Virbhadra Singh To Discuss Baba!

Shimla May, 16: Seeking an amicable settlement of their grievances pertaining to controversial godman Amardev at Rurra village in the Kandaghat sub-division, a delegation of villagers from the Tundal panchayat met Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh in Shimla.

The CM assured the villagers that various aspects of the case, including criminal cases slapped against the villagers, lack of action against Amardev, attack on 52-year-old woman Shanti Devi as well as the antecedents of the controversial godman, would be inquired into within a week and needful would be done to address their grievances.

The villagers gave him a memorandum where they pleaded to debar the entry of Amardev in and around the under-construction Shri Ramlok Temple and also stressed that the state government should take over the reins of the temple. People of the village also demanded rollback of criminal cases slapped against them.

Praveen Kumar, Pradhan, Tundal Panchayat, said they informed the CM that a mahapanchayat comprising locals from 22 panchayats was convened at Rurra village yesterday where they aired their grievances before the Deputy Commissioner.
