Parivartan Yatra by BJP a flop show, says Virbhadra

Shimla, July 7: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today dubbed the Parivartan Yatra of the BJP a flop show and said pomp and show through rath yatras would not help the BJP muster support in far-flung areas of the state. Elections were close and many so-called leaders would crop up to lure people to vote in favour of their candidates, he said, addressing a public gathering at Khamaadi in Shimla district.

Cautioning the public to be aware of nefarious designs of such divisive forces as their sole motive was to lure public, he said not even a single room or a road was constructed by them in this area.“I am being criticised by the BJP for opening many educational institutions, have I committed a crime,” he questioned. The BJP believed in criticism and did the same for attaining cheap publicity, he said.

The Chief Minister announced PWD rest house and Ayurveda dispensary at Khamaadi and assured people for opening of branch of co-operative bank after a survey. He directed for construction of Khamaadi-Khaadapani road and said adequate funds would be provided for renovation of Sihaasani Mata Temple.He also announced a veterinary dispensary at Beot, upgrading of sub-tehsil Nankhari to tehsil, converting Tharu helipad into mini stadium and expansion of PWD rest house at Nankhari.

Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of gravity water supply scheme (GWSS), Kungal Balti, to be completed with an outlay of Rs. 85 lakh.He also laid foundation stones of Primary Health Centre at Kungal Balti, Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) building Kungal Balti and GSSS building, Khamadi.He inaugurated additional accommodation of GSSS, Kungal Balti, constructed by the Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation at a cost of Rs 15 lakh, inaugurated Adarshnagar-Karoli road completed at a cost Rs 2.16 crore, Rs 20 lakh Ayurvedic Dispensary building at Shakla and new police station at Nankhari.
