Himachal Day: CM Launches Jobless Allowance Scheme

Shimla April, 16; Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today launched the jobless allowance scheme and distributed cheques of Rs1,000 each to 10 beneficiaries under the scheme while presiding over the state-level 70th Himachal Day function at Chamba.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the state government had always been considerate towards the welfare of the youth and the government had recently taken a decision to provide unemployment allowance to the youth of the state as was promised in the election manifesto.He also announced that the period of regularisation of contract employees now would be three years instead of five. He unfurled the Tricolour on the occasion.

Virbhadra said the state government had decided to provide unemployment allowance of Rs 1,000 per month to unemployed youth having Class XII or above qualification and the youth with disability would be given unemployment allowance of Rs 1,500 per month.

He also announced a passenger lift to be installed at Bhadrakali Bhalei Mata Temple in Bhalei sub-tehsil of Chamba district. The classes in the Chamba medical college would be started soon, he maintained.

He said to upgrade the skill of unemployed youth, the government had implemented Rs 500-crore skill development allowance scheme. He said so far, skill development allowance had been provided to 1.52 lakh youth.

Earlier, the Chief Minister took the salute from an impressive march past by contingents of police, Home Guards, NCC cadets and schoolchildren. The parade was commanded by DSP Puneet Raghu, who was also honoured by the CM. Solan: Vidya Stokes, Irrigation and Public Health (IPH), Horticulture and Information Technology Minister, presided over the district-level function of Himachal Day here today.

She unfurled the national flag and took the salute of a march past by the contingents of police, Home Guards and NCC. She said the government had accorded top priority to providing all basic amenities to the people and portable water was one of them. She said Rs 7,288 crore had been spent by the IPH Department in the last four years, while Rs 2,238 crore had been earmarked in this year’s Budget.

He said 43,353 jobs had been provided to the youth in the government sector this year. He honoured widows of freedom fighters.Una: GS Bali, Public Distribution and Transport Minister, today unfurled the national flag and took the salute of a march past presented by contingents of Himachal Police, Home Guards, NCC and Scouts and Guides at Government Senior Secondary School. He announced to start five new bus routes from Una.Nahan: Sujan Singh Pathania, Agriculture and Power Minister, said today that Rs 484 crore was being spent to boost agriculture in the state in the current financial year. He was presiding over the district-level Himachal Day celebrations in Nahan today.He said the state government had launched the Rs 111-crore Dr YS Parmar Kisan Swarozgar Yojana to generate self-employment opportunities in the agriculture sector.

Four years, 17 PHCs

Shimla: Prakash Chaudhary, Excise and Taxation Minister, was the chief guest at the district-level Himachal Day function organised here. He said 17 new primary health centres and seven sub-health centres had been opened in the past four years. TNSRs 488 cr for tribal areasReckong Peo: Deputy Speaker Jagat Singh Negi said on Saturday that the state government had approved a budget of Rs 488 crore for the development of tribal areas of the state. He said during the tenure of the present government, six villages of the Karcham division had been connected with the road facility. OC

Hamirpur: Mukesh Agnihotri, Industries Minister, said over 2,000 new jobs would be generated for the youth of the state this year. He was addressing a public gathering on the occasion of Himachal Day here today. He said 43,353 jobs had been provided to the youth in the government sector this year. OC
