Himachal BJP worked for Dalits, says former CM Dhumal

Shimla, Aug 28: Leader of the Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal presided over a Dalit Sammelan organised by the Gagret BJP unit at Mawa Kohlan village of Gagret segment. Speaking on the occasion Dhumal elaborated on various welfare schemes initiated during the previous BJP regime in the state and those launched by the Centre.

He alleged the Congress had used Dalit votes to come into power, but ignored the contribution of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar towards the nation.The former CM said during the previous BJP regime in the state, as many 2000 toppers of community were given scholarships amounting to Rs 10,000 each and community halls in the name of Dr BR Ambedlar were constructed in all the 68 Assembly segments.

He said 75 Dalit households in every Assembly segment were provided LPG connections under the Mata Shabari Scheme, along with solar street lights and liquid waste management systems.He urged people to work towards ensuring the victory of BJP candidate from the Gagret Assembly segment during the upcoming elections.
