Google Doodle In Place. Modiji Bhool Gaye!

Google is known to come out with interesting doodles to mark special occasions and days. So how could it miss something as important as Labour Day!

Log on to google.com and you will be greeted by a set of tools such as a pair of gloves, measuring tape, a wrench and rolls of insulating tape along with a few spare screws and nuts thrown in for good measure. This static doodle is Google’s way of celebrating the Labour Day today.

Labour Day is an annual holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers. Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest. Wow!

Surprisingly, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi who’s is super active in recognising and wishing people on special occasions through the social media, somehow gave the Labour Day a miss. While he did greet people of Maharashtra and his state of Gujarat for their statehood days, his Twitter handle had no mention of the class who is responsible for his pet project ‘Make In India’.

Well, what’s the clarification Mr PM?
