The Aam Aadmi Party’s bitter internal feud exploded at a meeting held near Delhi today where founder members Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan were dropped from a key panel in what could be a precursor to their possible exit for challenging chief Arvind Kejriwal.
Aam Aadmi Party rebels Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan, meanwhile, said the dismissal process was a farce.
“I feel ashamed and saddened by what happened in a party that promised a different kind of politics,” Yadav said at a press conference, hours after a controversial meeting where some 250 AAP members voted to drop them from the National Executive.
“Unfortunately, I tried and failed in my efforts to curb Arvind Kejriwal’s dictatorial tendencies and they have taken on a more dangerous form,” said Bhushan.
Yadav said he spotted professional bouncers in the meeting, and non-members.
